Microphone audio
When you start the tuner, your browser asks for microphone access. The sound is analysed in your browser, on your device, in real time. It is never recorded, stored or sent to us or anyone else. When you stop the tuner or leave the page, the microphone is released.
Settings saved on your device
Your tuner settings (reference pitch, mode, chosen tuning, accessibility options) and any saved custom tunings are kept in your browser's local storage on this device. They are never sent to us. Clearing your browser data removes them.
Analytics
Page views and page-speed measurements are counted with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which sets no cookies and does not track you across sites. A few anonymous tuner events (whether the tuner started, whether microphone access was granted, whether a tune-up was completed and how long it took) are sent to our own server. They carry no cookie, no visitor identifier, no IP address and no audio.
Error reports
If the tuner breaks, an error report (the error message, browser name and version, and the page) is sent to our own server so we can fix it. It goes to no third party and contains no audio, no IP address and no personal details.
Contact form
If you write to us, we receive the name, email and message you enter, and use them only to reply. The form is protected by Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks that you are not a bot without tracking cookies. We delete messages within 12 months unless an ongoing conversation needs them.
Hosting and delivery
Pages are served by our hosting provider and delivered through Cloudflare's network, which process standard request data (such as IP address and browser) to deliver pages and protect against attacks. We do not sell or share data with advertisers. There are no ads inside the tuner.
Your rights
You can ask us what we hold about you, or ask us to delete it, by emailing [email protected]. Because we hold almost nothing, most requests are answered immediately.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top of this page changes too.
